Minister Of SOEs: Telkom Smart Office Development At IKN Will Become Indonesia's Telecommunication Hub
JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir said the construction of the Telkom Smart Office (TSO) in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN) would become a telecommunication hub in Indonesia.
Erick said that IKN is one of the monuments to the realization of advanced and modern Indonesia, especially in basic infrastructure such as telecommunications, banking, transportation, and others.
"Telkom (PT Telkom Indonesia) as a telecommunications BUMN carries out the task of providing reliable connectivity and digital services, connected throughout Indonesia and making IKN a telecommunications hub for the archipelago as early as possible," Erick said in a written statement in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Friday, March 1.
President Director of Telkom Ririek Adriansyah said digitalization is not just a necessity, but is the main catalyst in encouraging the progress of the national economy.
The groundbreaking of Telkom Smart Office IKN which took place at IKN, East Kalimantan, on Friday (1/3), is a form of Telkom's support in developing a digital ecosystem in the IKN region.
TelkomGroup has a high commitment to supporting IKN development with complete digital infrastructure, both digital connectivity, digital platforms, and digital services.
"Telkom believes that IKN development is not just moving government administration centers, but about making IKN a role model for urban development and accelerating steps to transform the national economy. For this reason, Telkom supports the development of world-class ICT at IKN and is ready to collaborate with various parties," said Ririek.
In the digital connectivity aspect, Telkom provides reliable connectivity infrastructure with an optical fiber backbone and a wide access network, based on fixed broadband, cellular 4G and 5G Telkomsel, satellite, and WiFi.
Telkom also provides a Digital Platform that can become a digitalization enabler at IKN through the provision of data centers, cloud computing services, cyber security, and Internet-of Things (IoT).
