Zoom Brings More Languages To Companion AI Features

JAKARTA The AI Companion feature, a generating assistant to Artificial Intelligence (AI), on Zoom now presents more language. This news was shared by Zoom on Thursday, February 29.

With the support of the new language, AI Companion now has 9 languages in Team Chat and will have 36 languages in Meetings. In addition to getting additional languages, Zoom also added automatic language detection capabilities in the meeting summary feature.

Zoom's Head of AI, Mahesh Ram, said that AI needs are very important. However, this need must be balanced with the availability of language so that all Zoom users can work more effectively and efficiently without obstacles.

"The worldwide work team needs an AI that can be used in various languages. If you use AI to help increase collaboration and productivity, the importance of the AI's ability to support the various languages used by your team," said Mahesh.

Team Chat is an application that allows users to connect asynchronously or not at the same time. With the new language, Team Chat is now available in English, French, German, Spanish, and others.

AI Companion in Team Chat can help users in drafting chats and summarizing the core of conversations in groups. Although it only supports 9 languages, AI Companion will present more languages in the future.

Meanwhile, AI Companion in Zoom Meetings is now available in Indonesian, Malay, Tagalog, Vietnam, Thailand, and many more. This additional language is already functioning in the latest AI Companion feature, namely the meeting summary feature.

AI Companion can be accessed free of charge for paid Zoom users. This AI assistant was just launched in September last year, but its users continued to increase significantly to reach 510.000 accounts.
