West Java DPRD Encourages Provincial Government To Pay Attention To High School Quota For Interests To Prevent Obstacles During PPDB
JAKARTA - Commission V of the West Java Provincial DPRD (Jabar) asked the West Java Provincial Government (Pemprov) to pay attention to the quota of high-interest schools.
Member of Commission V of the West Java DPRD, Viman Alfari Ramadhan, said that this should be considered so that the process of accepting New Students (PPDB) will not encounter problems.
"This must be considered by the West Java Provincial Government where infrastructure, land, is the main thing for now. So that later quality can produce graduates and also a good next generation in West Java," Viman said in his statement, Thursday, February 29, quoted by Antara.
Virman gave an example of the quota of SMAN 4 Tasikmalaya City which is high in demand but has limited number of classrooms to when New Student Admissions (PPDB) can only accommodate less than half of the number of registrants
Based on information obtained by Viman when he made a working visit in order to evaluate the learning infrastructure, at SMA Negeri 4 Tasikmalaya City, out of 800 people who registered, but still only 320 people could receive.
"In each school the problem is almost the same, the average is a study group. Indeed (the quota) cannot be added again and it is related to classroom infrastructure which must still be added," said Viman.
Therefore, said Viman, the West Java DPRD has compiled a proposal as a solution to the problems there to be submitted to the West Java Education Office, such as an empty land that can still be built classrooms so that SMAN 4 Tasikmalaya City can accommodate more new students.
"Of course, what can be maximized here is ready with 400 meters of additional class land. Hopefully, later we can also help fight for it, because the interest from the community and also these new students is very high, now the submission has reached the local education office," he said.

Viman hopes that by 2025 it can be planned for the construction of a new classroom, not only at SMAN 4 Tasikmalaya City, but also at SMA-SMA and other schools as well, with Commission V of the West Java DPRD taking it to commission meetings and other financial-related forums.
"Commission V will encourage and fight for solutions to the problem of land infrastructure and new classrooms in schools which will later be discussed at commission meetings and forums related to financial assistance," added Viman.
It is known, previously Commission V of the West Java Provincial DPRD also found the problem of the lack of classrooms at SMA Negeri 3 Bekasi City, even though the school is also a school with quite high demand there.
Therefore, Commission V of the West Java DPRD assesses that the development of a new class is a solution that must be realized in the near future, because infrastructure in the world of education must be a priority to support effective teaching and learning activities there.
