SIGAP Family Program Officially Launched In Indonesia

JAKARTA - In line with the Indonesian government's agenda in requiring culture and healthy living behavior through health education, the SIGAP Family Program (Siaga Dukung Kesehatan Family, Ready to Face the Future) has been officially launched in Indonesia.

This program aims to protect more than 1 million children exposed to the risk of disease which can actually be prevented through socialization of positive behavior focusing on routine, complete, and on schedule, washing hands with soap (CTPS), and providing nutritious food to children aged 0-24 months.

The SIGAP Family Program is the result of a sustainable collaboration between Gavi, Unilever Indonesia, and The Power of Nutrition. Today's event is also supported by the Ministry of Health, the National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN), the Health Office of Kab. Bogor, and the Health Office of Kab. Banjar. This program is a replication of the success of a similar program in India (2017-2021) under the name Safal Shuruaat (Successful Begining).

In 2021, more than a quarter of children's deaths are caused by Pneumonia and Diare, these diseases can actually be prevented through clean and healthy living behavior such as maintaining hand hygiene, complete immunization on time, and accompanied by a good diet. The SIGAP Family program is here to reduce the risk of contracting children from these diseases.

Through the SIGAP Family Program, health cadres in the Bogor Regency and Regency areas are trained to provide effective socialization using various interactive media to attract public attention, especially parents.
