Coordinating Minister For Political, Legal And Security Affairs: Follow The Bawaslu Mechanism And MK If You Want To Sue Elections
Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Hadi Tjahjanto asked all parties who wish to report violations or election lawsuits to follow the mechanisms in the General Election Supervisory Agency and the Constitutional Court.
"If there are allegations of fraud, of course it will be carried out in accordance with the Bawaslu and MK mechanisms. Follow that mechanism," said Hadi at the Indonesian Church Association (PGI) office in Salemba, Central Jakarta, as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, February 28.
According to Hadi, until now the mechanism in Bawaslu and MK is a facility provided by the government to handle election disputes.
He did not advise the public to use other methods, especially those that led to anarchic acts and intimidation in suing the election results.
Hadi also admitted that so far there have been several reports of election violations that have entered Bawaslu.
During the process at Bawaslu, Hadi and his staff will ensure that security conditions and political temperatures remain conducive.
Previously, Chairman of the General Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) Rahmat Bagja revealed that his institution received 1,271 reports and 650 findings of alleged violations during the 2024 election stage.
The data was accumulated until February 26, 2024 and divided into various types of violations.
"Allegations of administrative violations, alleged election crimes, alleged violations of the election organizer's code of ethics, and other alleged violations of the law," said Bagja at the Indonesian Bawaslu Building, Jakarta, Tuesday (27/2).
Bagja continued as many as 482 reports and 541 findings have been registered, while 104 other findings have not been registered.
"Then the results of the handling of violations, 479 violations, 324 violations, 69 administrative violations, 39 violations of alleged election crimes, and 125 other violations of the law," he said.
Meanwhile, Bawaslu Member Herwyn J. H. Malonda said that one of the trends of alleged election criminal violations was administrative violations.
Herwyn said administrative violations occurred, including campaigns outside the campaign period, factual verification to political party centers, social media videos, or code of ethics.

"For the election criminal trend, first, he is related to article 521, then 523 regarding money politics, then articles 490, 491, 494, and 493 (Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning general elections)," said Herwyn.
He explained that the trend of alleged election violations included document falsification during the campaign period or ahead of voting day related to money politics.
The two trends of violations are still being handled by Bawaslu or the police and the prosecutor's office.
"Then another trend, first, is related to the neutrality of ASN. Then also regarding the provisions of Article 283 related to regional heads who violate the provisions of Article 283 Paragraph 1 of Law Number 7/2017," he said.
The findings and reports received by Bawasluitu do not include administrative violations of the causes of re-voting in a number of areas.
