This Is The Prediction Of Energy Mix In 2050: Oil Drops To 20 Percent
JAKARTA - Deputy of Finance and Commercialization of SKK Migas, Kurnia Chairi revealed a number of scenarios for the energy mix in 2050.
Kurnia said that previously in 2020 the gas still held a portion of 21 percent and would increase to 24 percent by 2050.
"This will be in line with the decline in the portion of oil utilization. Currently, 29 percent of oil is dominated, but in the future 2050 is planned to reduce the portion of oil to 20 percent," Kurnia said in a webinar investigating the readiness of gas supply for the Industrial and Power Plant Sector, Wednesday, February 28.
Kurnia said she hopes that by 2050, the portion of new and renewable energy which currently still holds a portion of 13-15 percent will increase 2 times to 31 percent.

Kurnia said, in terms of portion, gas only has a slight increase, but in terms of volume, there will be a drastic increase in terms of energy needs.
"In 2020, the 61 percent MTOE for gas will increase to 109 percent and even 2050 the gas demand will increase to 242.9 percent, meaning that the portion will decrease due to a renewable increase, but along with the government's plan to encourage economic growth and Indonesia's target to grow in the high range to 6-7 percent per year in our energy mix, we see that energy needs will greatly increase," concluded Kurnia.
