TNI AD Denies Sending Combat Vehicles To Guard Bawaslu
Head of the Army Information Service Brigadier General Kristomei Sianturi denied the government's issue of implementing a national security emergency by lowering combat vehicles in front of the General Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) office.
This is a response to the upload of the X account @Bantoro_Boediantar4 which said the TNI was imposing a national security emergency.
"For this reason, we urge the public not to be easily provoked by issues that cannot be accounted for and can mislead public opinion," Kristomei said in a press statement in Jakarta, reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, February 27.
Kristomei explained that the video was taken when people who were capturing the convoy of TNI vehicles passed through the Jalan MH Thamrin area, Central Jakarta, in the context of the defense equipment parade on the TNI's Anniversary commemoration series, dated October 5, 2023.
Therefore, he ensured that the video had nothing to do with securing the Indonesian Bawaslu building.
Currently, Kadispenad is coordinating with the party responsible for handling hoax information.
