Bawaslu Opens The Possibility Of Election Supervisors Died-injured Obtaining Double Compensation
JAKARTA - Member of the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) Herwyn J. H. Malonda said that election supervisors who die, are disabled, or are injured can get double or double compensation.
"If he is a member (the Social Security Administration/BPJS Employment Agency), he can definitely get doubles. Got it by BPJS, we also got it," said Herwyn at the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture (Kemenko PMK) Building, Jakarta, Tuesday 27 February, confiscated by Antara.
In addition, Herwyn explained that for election supervisors who are not members of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, the compensation will still be prepared by the institution.
Herwyn said that based on Bawaslu Decree Number 11 of 2023 concerning Technical Guidelines (Juknis) for Compensation of Work Accidents, the compensation for supervisors who died was Rp. 36 million and funeral compensation was Rp. 10 million.
"Then for this permanent defect is Rp. 16.5 million, the same as serious injuries, and moderate injuries are Rp. 8.25 million. That is in Bawaslu with various provisions given," he said.
Meanwhile, Herwyn said that her party is currently coordinating with BPJS Ketenagakerjaan as an accountability for the election supervisor who has suffered a disaster.
"The current position is that we are conditioning to inform, report to BPJS about Bawaslu ranks who have suffered disasters related to accidents, hospitalizations, outpatients, including those who died," he said.
On the same occasion, the government provided compensation for 44 heirs of election Ad Hoc officers who died and experienced work/sakit accidents, which were paid through BPJS Ketenagakerjaan with a total budget of up to IDR 2.6 billion.
"BPJS Ketenagakerjaan provides the benefits of Death Security (Jkm) to 35 cases and the benefits of Work Accident Insurance (JKK) to nine cases," said Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy when symbolizing the submission of aid at the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture, Jakarta, Tuesday.
Coordinating Minister Muhadjir said those who received compensation were officers registered with BPJS Ketenagakerjaan. The total election officers registered with BPJS Ketenagakerjaan were 1,061,428.
Of these, 960,673 people were registered through the KPU and 100,755 people passed through Bawaslu. Meanwhile, from data from the Ministry of Health, 114 officers died.

The President Director of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Anggoro Eko Cahyo said that the provision of compensation to the nominal heirs was different. BPJS Ketenagakerjaan divides into three categories, namely death while on duty (February 14), death before duty, and those who are still undergoing treatment.
To die while on duty, compensation was given around 48 times the salary / wages received, while died before serving amounting to Rp42 million / person.
"In addition, educational scholarships ranging from early education to higher education levels, for children who are abandoned by their parents while on duty," said Eko.
Previously, the Chairman of the Indonesian Bawaslu Rahmat Bagja revealed that 30 supervisors of the 2024 General Election had died until February 26, 2024.
"Until this week there have been three more. So, about 30 people (election supervisors died)," said Bagja at the Election Organizers Honorary Council Building (DKPP), Jakarta, Monday, February 26.
