Siti Zuhro: The Right Of Administrative Rights Can Be An Event To Prove Election Cheating, Regarding Impeachment There Is A Relationship

JAKARTA - Senior political researcher from the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) Siti Zuhro said the right of inquiry mechanism in the DPR could be an event for all camps, including the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka pair camp, to prove allegations of fraud in the 2024 election.

He considered that the right of inquiry was not an event to fight against the candidate pair (paslon) number 2, but the camp also had the opportunity to reveal allegations of fraud by other camps.

"So there is free and fair, if I am intellectual, in the name of democracy it sits equally low and stands equally high, the election process must be accounted for," said Siti as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, February 26.

By following the right to inquiry mechanism, he assessed that the president who will be elected must be respected and have legitimacy. Because, according to him, there should be no unilateral claims from certain pairs of candidates.

"There are these three candidate pairs, yes, the three candidate pairs have some kind of authority to say this is not true, so call this," he said.

In addition, Siti said that the right of inquiry should not be interpreted as a impeachment process against the president. If it is not proven, according to her, there will be no impeachment.

"There are conditions for impeachment," he said.

Siti suggested that the alleged election fraud would also continue to be legally processed, through Bawaslu or to the Constitutional Court.

Therefore, the settlements taken, according to him, go through two paths, political channels and legal channels.

"So we are in the institution so that through the institution, there is a kind of formality, professionalism, some can be accounted for, not through thepeople power, riots, horror," he said.

In a previous statement, presidential candidate number 3 Ganjar Pranowo encouraged his party to roll out the right of inquiry against allegations of fraud in the 2024 presidential election (Pilpres) in the DPR.

According to Ganjar, the right of inquiry which is the right of investigation by the DPR is one of the efforts that can be made to ask the General Election Commission (KPU) and the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) regarding the implementation of the 2024 presidential election.
