Letter To UN Security Council, Israeli Foreign Minister Katz Accuses Iran Of Supplying Weapons To Hezbollah
JAKARTA - Israeli Foreign Minister Katz stressed that his party is ready to take action to protect Israeli citizens and interests from the Hezbollah group.
Writing a letter to the UN Security Council, Foreign Minister Katz wrote about the situation on the border with Israel and Lebanon, revealing Iran had transferred weapons to the Hezbollah group that violated Resolution 1701, as reported by The National News from Channel 12, February 23.
Furthermore, Foreign Minister Katz accused Iran of transferring weapons by land, air and sea, detailing the transferred components and for what the weapons were used for.
According to Katz, the weapons were transferred from Iran to Iraq and from there they were smuggled into Syria.
At that point, the weapons were moved across the border into Lebanon. To support the evidence, Katz gave the United Nations an appropriate date for the latest transfer.
"The Security Council must also ask the Lebanese government to fully implement its decision, be responsible for and prevent attacks from its territory against Israel, and ensure that the territory to the Litani River is free from the presence of the military, assets, or weapons," Katz wrote.
