Cak Imin's Affirmation In The Middle Of Jokowi's Plan To Meet The Chairman Of The Political Party: I'm On The Change Line

Chairman of the National Awakening Party (PKB) who is also vice presidential candidate Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin emphasized that his party continues to carry the idea of change.

In the midst of President Joko Widodo's plan to hold a meeting with political party leaders (political parties), Cak Imin admitted that he was still in the line of changes brought by the presidential candidate Anies Baswedan and himself during the 2024 presidential election contestation.

"I am on the path of change," said Cak Imin after the meeting of the chairman of the Coalition for Change and Vice Presidential Candidates number 1 at Wisma Nusantara, Central Jakarta, Friday, February 23.

Until now, Cak Imin admitted that there had been no invitation to meet with Jokowi. On that basis, the Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives asked all parties not to assume that PKB would return to the government when they lost the presidential election.

"Nothing. Don't make assumptions, really," said Cak Imin.

Jokowi's meeting with the chairman of the political party began with the agenda of having dinner with the chairman of the NasDem Party, Surya Paloh, at the Merdeka Palace on Sunday, February 18. Jokowi said that his meeting with Surya Paloh was a bridge for political parties.

"This is only the beginning. Later when it is final, we will convey it. But actually I am just a bridge, the most important thing is later parties," said Jokowi after the inauguration of the State Defense Center Hospital, General Sudirman and 20 TNI hospitals in Jakarta.

Jokowi also said that meetings with a number of other general chairmen of political parties were being arranged. He wants to bridge them after the 2024 presidential election.

"I think this is in the process of being arranged because I really want to be a bridge for everything," Jokowi told reporters at the State Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday, February 21.

Jokowi, who recently met with the General Chair of the NasDem Party, Surya Paloh, said that the meeting did need to be held. However, he will not force it.

"Yes, all those who really have to meet, could find them. If you don't need to meet, why do you have to meet them," he said.
