The Prosecutor's Office Arrests The Former Regional Head Of Bulog Riau Regional Fugitive Convict Corruption Procurement Of FFB

The Fugitive Arrest Team (Tabur) of the Attorney General's Office and the Kediri District Attorney's Office, East Java arrested fugitives convicted of corruption in the procurement and processing of fresh palm fruit bunches (FFB) at the Public Company of the Riau Regional Logistics Affairs Agency.

Head of the Legal Information Center of the Attorney General's Office, Ketut Sumedana, said the convict was on behalf of Abdullah (68). He was arrested on Jalan Brawijaya, Tulung Rejo Village, Pare District, Kediri, East Java, Thursday (22/2).

"Syarif Abdullah's actions as the former Head of Regional Division of Bulog Riau cost the state Rp9.3 billion. The convict is a fugitive from the Pekanbaru District Attorney," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, February 23.

Based on the Court's decision on January 7, 2016, Syarif Abdullah was sentenced to seven years in prison and a fine of Rp. 200 million. With the provision that if the fine is not paid, it will be replaced with imprisonment for six months.

The convict was also sentenced to pay compensation of Rp1.8 billion. If he does not pay the replacement money at the latest within one month after the court's decision has permanent law (inkracht), then his property can be confiscated and auctioned off by the prosecutor to cover the replacement money.

"If the convict does not have sufficient property, he will be sentenced to three years in prison," said Ketut.

When secured, Syarif Abdullah was cooperative to be taken to the Kediri District Attorney's Office for a handover to the Pekanbaru District Attorney's Team.

This act of corruption was carried out by Syarif Abdullah with the Head of Komersil Perum Bulog Safei Matondang, former Head of Trade Hendri Marizal and former Treasurer of PT Rezki Cipta Illahi, Zulbuchori

This case began when the defendants carried out an Operational Cooperation Agreement (KSO) for the procurement and processing of palm fresh fruit bunches between Perum Bulog and PT Rezki Cipta Illahi.

In this case, the Supreme Court sentenced Zulbuchari to four years in prison in 2010. Meanwhile, Hendri Meirizal and Safei Matondang were each sentenced to four years in prison.
