Sampoerna University Holds FETO 2024 To Increase Awareness In Using AI

JAKARTA Sampoerna University held a 2024 Festival of Engineering and Technology (FETO) with the theme "InnovavaEthix: Pioneering a Virtuous and Secured Digital Future" on Friday, February 22.

Pioneered by BEM of the Sampoerna University Faculty of Engineering and Technology, this festival will provide a deep understanding of current technology. The 2024 FETO will also share various views and uses of technology.

FETO 2024 is an annual festival that has Sampoerna University's full support. This year, FETO 2024 will discuss the latest technological developments and public dependence on Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Joel Nathanael, FETO Project Leader, said that AI needs are getting higher so that their use needs to be considered. The higher people's dependence on AI, the greater the bad impact it can have.

"The longer it depends on AI. Why a little bit of AI? From there, I raised AI as one of the topics in FETO this year and that's for a breakdown of awareness about the ethical use of AI," Joel said during the Media Briefing session.

In line with Joel's statement, Den of Faculty of Engineering and Technology Sampoerna University Surya Danusaputro Liman said that AI technology has two sides that need to be considered, namely the side that is profitable and also detrimental.

"We know, AI is like a two-edged sword, a sword whose two sides are sharp, depending on its use because AI is one of the tools that can be used properly to help us, but can also be misused," said Surya.

Seeing the importance of this topic, Surya feels that the 2024 FETO will be the right means to discuss technology and build awareness about the importance of AI understanding. This festival is believed to spearhead other universities.

"As a faculty that prioritizes technology, especially in today's times. Sampoerna University is an international university standard, it is very important for Faculty of Engineering to follow change."

FETO 2024 will be held for two days at The Forum, Lippo Mall Puri from February 23 to February 24. This festival has a boost from several application developers and will present various technology seminars.
