Starting Debut At MDL Season 9, Persija Esports MLBB Not Targeting Champions

JAKARTA - After success with its two gaming divisions, namely Valorant and PUBM Mobile, now Persija Esports announced its first presence for the Mobile Legends division: Bang Bang.

Through this MLBB division debut, Persija Esports will participate in the MDL Season 9 esports tournament, which will take place on March 2, 2024.

Persija Esports MLBB will be strengthened by its six mainstay Rosters, namely, Bernard Ditya W Widjanarko, Daffa Dwitama Siregar, Nabeel Dewangga Widi Widad, Dimas Bayu Pratama, Marshall King Sitepu and Windy risa maghfira Siregar.

Trained by coach Kris Lionheart, CEO of Persija Esports hopes that the MLBB division can excel, the same as the previous two gaming divisions that won the 2023 PMPL ID Fall, and advanced to the PUBG Mobile Global Championship phase 2023 in Turkey.

Even so, Harlin admitted that he did not have the target of winning the Persija Esports MLBB debut. He hopes that his MLBB team can excel slowly.

"So we set a target so that this team can excel. We don't want to give the burden to players, we support them to perform best," Harlin told the media on Thursday, February 22 at the Persija Official Store in Jakarta.

"Actually, the championship target is not a target that is charged, but we hope that it will excel," he added.

Just like Harlin, as a coach, Kris also did not emphasize the team to become champions. However, Kris guarantees that the mechanics of the boosters is equivalent to other pro players.

"So maybe as coach of Persija Esports I wouldn't say we have to win, but I believe we can win if we play well. Trust the process," he said.
