Sri Mulyani Reveals State Budget Surplus IDR 31.3 Trillion In January 2024

JAKARTA - The realization of the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN) in January 2024 still recorded a surplus of IDR 31.3 trillion or 0.14 percent of gross domestic product (GDP).

Meanwhile, the APBN surplus in January 2024 reached IDR 31.3 lower than the same period in January 2023 of IDR 90.8 trillion.

Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati conveyed that the APBN surplus in January 2024 came from state revenues of IDR 215.5 trillion or reached 7.7 percent of the 2024 State Budget target.

Previously, the government had set state revenues of Rp2,781.3 trillion. Meanwhile, state expenditures in the 2024 State Budget were set at Rp3,325.1 trillion consisting of K/L Expenditures of Rp1,090.8 trillion, non-K/L Expenditures of Rp1,376.7 trillion, and Transfers to Regions of Rp857.6 trillion.

On the other hand, the realization of state spending until January 2024 reached IDR 184.2 trillion, or reached 5.5 percent of the budget ceiling.

The primary balance recorded a surplus of IDR 61.4 trillion in January 2024. Sri Mulyani said that the primary balance itself is the total state income minus state spending outside of debt interest payments.

Meanwhile, central government expenditure (BPP) in January 2024 amounted to IDR 96.4 trillion or 3.9 percent of the budget ceiling.
