Successful Election, Luhut Pede Investment RI Capai Target Rp1,650 Trillion
Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Menko Marves) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan revealed that he believes that Indonesia's investment in 2024 can reach the target of IDR 1,650 trillion.
According to Luhut, after the General Election on February 14, many investors wanted to enter to invest in Indonesia after previously tended to take a wait and see attitude.
He added that after the election, he also received many congratulations by telephone regarding the smooth running of the 2024 General Election which was considered the largest election in the world.
"Regarding the investment, there are a lot. From our target of Rp. 1,650 trillion, I don't think there is a problem," Luhut said in his Instagram account quoted on Thursday, February 22.
Luhut said that although the economy of China and the world is experiencing difficulties, there are already investors from China who want to build a petrochemical industry and downstreaming projects from stainless steel to produce eating utensils and syringes.
He ensured that the Indonesian government would provide a positive response by building a special area.
"They have asked to enter and we will create a special area so that MSMEs will also have opportunities there," Luhut continued.

Just so you know, previously the Minister of Investment/Head of BKPM Bahlil Lahadalia said there was no adjustment to the investment target this year, even though there was a 2024 general election democracy party (Pemilu). He said the target set was still at IDR 1,650 trillion.
Bahlil also admitted that he was optimistic that the investment target set by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) could be achieved even in the midst of the 2024 election turmoil.
"There is only one condition, in this election, don't slander, don't bring down our country too much so that it is stable," he explained.
The reason, continued Bahlil, is that in this election year many investors tend to wait or wait and see before investing in Indonesia.
