High School Students In Kediri Arrested After Their Action Was Recorded By CCTV Bobol ATM Bank Jatim

A student of a high school (SMA) student in Kediri JMS (18), was arrested after his action breaking into an automated machine (ATM) Bank Jatim was caught on CCTV surveillance camera.Kasat Reskrim Kediri City Police AKP Nova Indra Pratama revealed that the arrest of JMS was carried out at his home, Banaran Village, Pesantren District, Kediri City. He was involved in the burglary case of an ATM machine at Bank Jatim in Pesantren Subdistrict, Kediri City. "The perpetrator committed a criminal act of attempted theft with weighting. The perpetrator pryed the safe door and pulled it out. But it failed," Nova said, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, February 22. The perpetrator, he said, carried out his action on February 12, 2024 in the morning at around 03.00 WIB. He then also damaged the screen of the ATM machine monitor and pryed the CCTV inside the ATM machine room. The CCTV was then dumped at the Bangsal TPA, Pesantren District, Kediri City. Police, he said, kept investigating the case. The police tried to copy the image taken from CCTV at the ATM location. The suspect's image was recorded, so it was immediately followed up. In addition, there was also information from a number of witnesses who led to the suspect, so that the police managed to get the suspect's identity. Before breaking into the ATM machine, the perpetrators on the same day also committed theft at a shop selling vaccines or electric cigarettes in Kediri City. The perpetrators damaged the shop door by prying it. After prying it up, the perpetrators entered and took away a number of goods selling in the shop such as exports, and a number of other items. The perpetrators also damaged CCTV in the shop.

Currently, the perpetrator has been arrested and detained at the Kediri City Police Headquarters. To the police, the perpetrator admitted that it was the first time he had burglarized the ATM machine. However, it failed. For the motive, Nova said the perpetrator carried out his actions for personal gain. He is threatened with being charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code concerning theft with a maximum imprisonment of nine years in prison.
