Agus Sedayu Group Boss Aguan Ensures Hotels In IKN Can Be Used To Celebrate RI's 79th Anniversary

JAKARTA - Property boss Agung Sedayu Group Sugianto Kusuma alias Aguan ensured that hotels built in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN) of East Kalimantan can be used in August 2024.

The target is in line with President Joko Widodo (Jokowi)'s plan to hold a ceremony to commemorate the 79th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia in August at IKN.

Furthermore, Aguan said, hotel construction will continue to be boosted to achieve this target.

"To what extent (the development progress at IKN)? What we are concentrating on now is completing the hotel," he said when met in the PIK 2 area, Tangerang, Banten, written Wednesday, February 21.

"So maybe we can use the hotel on time in August. That's what matters first," he continued.

For your information, Agung Sedayu Group is one of the investors in the development of IKN Nusantara. One of the projects undertaken by this company is the construction of Hotel Nusantara.

Phase One Completes 200 Rooms

Previously reported, Chief Operating Officer Agung Sedayu Retail David Hilman said that the construction of the Nusantara Hotel must be pursued so that it can be completed in August 2024.

"I don't really know the percent (of the construction progress). But what is certain is that on August 17 this year the President will go there. So it has to be finished before that," said David when met at The Langham Hotel, Jakarta, Wednesday, January 31.

David said, in this first stage, the Nusantara Hotel will have 200 rooms. This means that 200 rooms will be available on August 17, 2024, along with the relocation of the capital city.

"The first stage is 200 rooms, it's finished (17 August). We don't know the next phase yet, but I think IKN will continue but there will be more developments," he said.

Finished Before The Commemoration Of The 79th Anniversary Of The Republic Of Indonesia

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) wants the process of building hotel facilities in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN) to be completed before the commemoration of the 79th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia in August 2024.

"In the coming August, we will hold a 17th ceremony at IKN. The question is where are the guests staying?," said President Jokowi during a speech on the agenda of 'Groundbreaking Jambuluwuk Nusantara Hotel' followed online by the Presidential Secretariat, Friday, January 17, which was confiscated by Antara.

Jokowi said the presence of hotel facilities at IKN would add alternative guest accommodation to those present, in addition to hotels that are now available in Balikpapan.

"It can be in Balikpapan, because the toll road is 47 kilometers long, God willing, it will be finished in July," he said.

"But it would be even better if the construction of a number of hotels in IKN was completed before the commemoration of Indonesian Independence Day," Jokowi added.

"I am sure one, two hotels will be completed at IKN and hotels that are in the process of being built, both 4 stars and 5 stars, plus this Jambuluwuk hotel and resort are the sixth, this is the sixth," he said.
