Napoli Fires Walter Mazzarri After Only Three Months On Duty
Napoli officially sacked Manager Walter Mazzarri who only handled the team for three months. The vacant seat will be filled by Francesco Calzona until the end of the 2023/2024 Serie A season.
Mazzarri's poor report card was the cause of I Partenopei having to make a firm decision.
The former Watford manager only won six wins in 17 matches with the status of defending champion Serie A. Currently, Napoli are even thrown from the top of the standings.
They sit ninth in the standings after the 1-1 draw at home against Genoa in the 24th week of Serie A 2023/2024, Saturday, February 17, 2024.
Napoli have only collected 36 points and are nine points away from the last team of the European tournament zone.

Meanwhile, Calzona will take charge of Napoli until the end of this season. The Italian coach's status did not remain or temporarily remembers I Partenopei giving freedom for double positions.
As is known, Calzone is the current coach of the Slovakian national team. He was allowed to puzzle two teams.
Slovakia is currently undergoing preparations to appear at Euro 2024 in Germany.
Interestingly, Calzona became Napoli's third head coach this season. Previously, the Partenopei had been handled by Rudi Garcia before being replaced by Mazzarri in November 2023.
Garcia's fate was equal to three with Mazzarri. The French coach only lasted 16 games after replacing Luciano Spalletti who had delivered Napoli Scudetto in the 2022/2023 season.
The Serie A 2022/2023 title is Napoli's first Scudetto in 33 years.
