Latest MR2 Toyota Present In 2026, Offers Similar Performance To GR Corolla
JAKARTA - Introduced in October 2023, the Toyota FT-Se concept will be the basis for Toyota's future Toyota Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) sports car. In fact, it is not impossible that the design of this concept will be the latest MR2 successor.
Reporting from Best Car reported again by Carscoops, Monday, February 19, rumors say Toyota FT-Se will be present in several versions, from pure electricity to a version of the Corolla GR-powered gasoline engine. In fact, it is likely that the model will also be offered in a hybrid version.
Japanese manufacturers are considering presenting two different models, namely the MR2 BEV version of the FT-Se for 2027 and the ICE combustion engine variant which will be presented early in 2025, before being released to the market in 2026.
Toyota presents various options for the latest vehicles, not without reason. Currently, the automotive industry is facing a number of changes, ranging from changes to government regulations to changes in customer preferences.
Thus, the automotive market will take place dynamically like all consumers will switch to fully electric vehicles (EVs) and hybrid vehicle promotions will increase again and so on.
In addition, Toyota wants the Gazoo Racing (GR) division to bring in more vehicles, even revive the model that has long passed away. This is evidenced by the successful launch of GR Supra.
