MUI Invites To Maintain Harmony While Waiting For Real Count Results

Deputy Chairperson of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) KH Marsudi Syuhud invited the public to maintain harmony while waiting for the 2024 General Elections count results from the General Election Commission (KPU).

"Our stance is clearly on all Indonesian citizens to remain patient waiting for an official announcement from the government because the development of a quick count is like a survey," Marsudi said at the declaration of the Call for Religious Leaders, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, February 16.

The man who is familiarly called Kiai Marsudi hopes for religious, traditional, cultural, and other leaders to call for an invitation to protect this nation to become a country that is comfortable, safe, and peaceful in their respective environments or in their respective regions.

"The peace that is delicious in life is realized if there is a rival attitude, sincerely accept it. If there is an attitude that has not accepted or is not sincere, in Indonesia there is already a way. There are rules. It has become a law, it can start the stages in Bawaslu," he said.

He reminded not to create games outside the law and violence while waiting for the tally results.

"Don't let there be games outside the law. There should be no violence, but our law is to become a statesman or become a nation that upholds the law," he said.

Kiai Marsudi also reminded that the public must be able to distinguish between elections and social relations.

"Political choices may be different, our nation remains one, so we should see each other with love. If so, then this world will be brightened, filled with joy, soul will be peaceful, the heart will be fresh, happiness will emerge, the condition of the servants will improve, the Indonesian nation will have more blessings," he said.
