Electrical Flow Cable In Pondok Gede Stolen By Thieves, PLN Makes Police Report

JAKARTA A power cable on Jalan Swakarsa, Jatibening Baru, Pondok Gede was stolen by a group of thieves. According to information received, the theft was carried out on Sunday, February 11, 2024.

General Manager of PLN Main Distribution Unit Jakarta Raya said PLN would act quickly to report theft of power lines to the authorities

"We do not hesitate to make a report if there is an act of theft of PLN assets such as power lines," said Lasiran, in a statement received on Friday, February 16.

Lasiran also appealed to the public to immediately report to the authorities if they knew of indications of theft of PLN assets such as cables.

According to Lasiran, the theft of PLN's power lines endangers the perpetrators and harms the surrounding community. In addition to causing the electricity to be cut off, cable theft also has the potential to threaten lives due to an electric shock.

"It can even result in death. The theft of power lines can also be subject to criminal penalties in accordance with Articles 362 and 363 of the Criminal Code with a maximum imprisonment of 9 years", he said.

"Customers' safety is the main thing. Therefore, PLN officers are always on standby to secure and follow up on reports of people entering PLN," concluded Lasiran.
