NVIDIA Survey: 43% Of Telecommunication Companies Invest In Generative AI
JAKARTA - The emergence of a generating AI is a new milestone for the telecommunications industry to embrace big language models, as they seek to change all parts of their business.
A recent survey from NVIDIA, conducted on more than 400 professional telecommunications industry worldwide, revealed that AI adoption could increase revenue and cost-saving.
In fact, 43% of respondents claimed to have invested in the adoption of a generative AI. This fact shows that the telecommunications industry is very enthusiastic in embracing the generative AI wave to overcome various business goals.
The survey also sees where 53% of respondents agree or strongly agree that adopting AI will be a source of competitive advantage, compared to 39% who reported the same thing in 2022.
The main reason for this continued engagement is that many industry stakeholders expect AI to contribute to the success of their company.
Overall, 56% of respondents agree or strongly agree that AI is important for the success of my company in the future, with the figure rising to 61% among decision-making management respondents.
While telecommunications companies are working to increase their investment in improving the capabilities of internal AI, they also emphasize that partnerships remain important for the adoption of AI solutions in the industry.

In the survey, 44% of respondents reported that joint development with partners was an approach their company liked to build AI solutions.
About 28% of respondents prefer to use open-source tools, while 25% take the AI-as-a-service approach. For generative AI, 29% of respondents build or adapt models to partners, a conservative approach that can be understood for the telecommunications industry with strict data protection rules.
For infrastructure, 31% of respondents chose to run most of their AI workload in the cloud (44% for the hybrid), compared to 21% of respondents in the previous survey (56% for the hybrid).
