A Number Of TPS In Kemayoran Collapsed By Rain And Strong Winds, 3 Voice Boxes Were Damaged By Water

JAKARTA - Tents of polling stations (TPS) in the Cempaka Baru Village area, Kemayoran, suddenly collapsed when heavy rains and strong winds hit the 2024 election on Wednesday, February 14, morning.

In addition, several ballot boxes were also damaged at the TPS in the South Gunung Sahari Village, Kemayoran District, Central Jakarta.

"Several TPS tents collapsed due to heavy rains in the Cempaka Baru Village area. This is a collapse due to not being strong enough to withstand the rain," said Head of KPPS 69 Cempaka Baru Village, Leonard Panjaitan to reporters, Wednesday, February 14.

Leonard said, due to the collapse of the TPS tent, the voting was confirmed to be disrupted. If according to schedule, residents are scheduled to be able to vote at 07.00 WIB.

"Certainly this will be disrupted because the tent where the voting collapsed. We are also still waiting for instructions whether we will be moved or what kind of instructions we are still waiting for," he said.

Separately, the head of RW 05 Chyssa Firdauso, Gunung Sahari Selatan Village, Kemayoran District, said that three ballot boxes were damaged due to flooding.

"In our case, there were three ballot boxes that were slightly damaged because they had been hit by the water track. Currently, we have evacuated with the Kemayoran Police to a higher place," he said.
