Cak Imin's Writing On Social Media And JK's Response To Dirty Vote Film Reported To Bawaslu
JAKARTA - Lingkar Nusantara (Lisan) advocates reported alleged violations of election crimes committed by vice presidential candidates (cawapres) Muhaimin Iskandar alias Cak Imin and the 10th and 12th Vice Presidents of the Republic of Indonesia Jusuf Kalla (JK) to the General Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu).
Deputy Chairperson of the Lingkar Nusantara Advocate Community Ahmad Fatoni said Cak Imin and JK were suspected of violating campaigning regulations during the calm period of the 2024 General Election.
"We report related to election violations, why do we report them, because this is a calm situation, so if we refer to Article 1 paragraph 36 of the Election Law, the calm period is 3 days before voting day on February 14," said Ahmad Fatoni in Jakarta, Tuesday, February 13.
Fatoni said that Cak Imin suspected that there was an element of campaign in his quiet time when he invited the public to watch the documentary Dirty Vote on his personal X account.
"Even though he (Cak Imin) knows that he is calm, so there should not be a campaign in any form, so he wants a positive campaign, especially the nature of the campaign to be negative," said Fatoni.
Fatoni said that Cak Imin was suspected of violating Article 287 paragraph 5 of Law Number 7 of 2017 regarding the prohibition for the mass media.
As for Article 287 paragraph 5 it reads, print mass media, online media, social media, and broadcasting institutions as referred to in paragraph (1) during quiescence are prohibited from broadcasting news, advertisements, track records of election participants, or other forms that lead to the interests of election campaigns that benefit or harm election participants.
"The alleged article 287 paragraph 5 is for Mr. Muhaimin Iskandar, because Muhaimin Iskandar uses social media platforms, which are prohibited from using social media platforms," explained Fatoni.

As for JK, Fatoni assessed that JK violated Article 280 of Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning Elections.
He said the alleged violation was when JK commented on the film Dirty Vote, which according to him, the data and partiality of the three actors in the film are still in doubt.
"JK commented on the contents of the film which he conveyed to CNN, he conveyed to the media in the film, he said he contained 25 percent of election fraud, as if there were still many other frauds, so he wanted to build the narrative, we suspect Mr. JK violated Article 280," explained Fatoni.
For this reason, Fatoni asked Bawaslu to conduct an investigation into the alleged violation of the election crime committed by Cak Imin and JK.
"We don't guarantee the validity of the content of the film, we are not tendentious to Pak Muhaimin and Mr. JK, but this is still a calm period, where in peace times we should just obey the regulations from the KPU, no more campaign-or inciting activities, we just want that," said Fatoni.
