Airbnb Imposes 2% Tax For Orders With Cross Currency Payments
JAKARTA - The platform leases or leases Airbnb inns to announce an update on the terms of its payment services for users who use cross-currency transactions.
In an email sent to users, the company said that it would start imposing a 2% tax on total orders from transactions made in cross-currency orders.
Simply put, this tax will be applied if the currency used by the guest is to pay, in contrast to the currency set by the host for their rental.
"Starting April 1, 2024, for cross-currency bookings, the cost of guest services will cover an additional amount of up to 2% of the total pre-tax order," the company said in an email received by VOI some time ago.
Airbnb said that this update is to be made to support the development of new platform businesses and features, to provide useful additional information on how personal information is processed, and to deal with upcoming laws and regulations.
