Klopp Highlights Arnold's Injury And Plans To Use Blue Card

JAKARTA - Jurgen Klopp highlighted the injuries suffered by right-back Liverpool Trent Alexander-Arnold and plans to use a "blue card" after the Reds won 3-1 over Burnley on Saturday night.

Liverpool, who won thanks to goals from Diego Jota, Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez were forced to pull out Arnold early in the second half to be replaced by Harvey Elliot.

In fact, Arnold has just set a record as a defender who scored 58 assists after catapulting Jota's corner in the first half.

"The knee is again? Yes, it feels like that. He stumbled on the grass and we are still monitoring it. We have to evaluate it," Klopp said as quoted by Antara from AFP on Sunday WIB.

"The area is the same in the knee. Nothing is too bad, but he feels it again and we have to see it," said the former Borussia Dortmund coach.

On the other hand, Klopp stated that Arnold admitted that he was "nothing" to his feet and wanted to keep playing.

"But we have to be careful and pull it out and it becomes a double problem because Trent is out and we don't have any other right-backs available," Klopp said.

In the match, which was marked by seven yellow cards from the referee Tim Robinson's pocket, including for Klopp and coach Burnley Vincent Kompany, the Liverpool coach also commented on plans to use a "blue card" in football matches.

According to the plan, players will receive a blue card and then be sentenced to leave the field for 10 minutes in the event of a dispute and tactical violation.

"Imagine in this match and the referee has a blue card? It's going to be Wild West. There are so many yellow cards today," Klopp said.

"I don't know why Vincent Kompany got it. I didn't see him in that situation, but all right, give me a yellow card. As long as I don't get a blue card and have to sit somewhere for 10 minutes," Klopp said.

After overcoming Burnley, Liverpool returned to the top of the table with 54 points, shifting Manchester City to the top with 52 points after beating Everton 2-0.
