KPU Yakin Hadirnya IKN Dongkrak Partisipasi Pemilu Pemilu 2024 Di PPU Kaltim
The General Election Commission (KPU) of North Penajam Paser Regency (PPU) in East Kalimantan (Kaltim) targets the PPU community participation rate to reach 80 percent in the 2024 General Election due to the presence of the development of the capital city of the archipelago (IKN).
"We have formed a joint team long ago. This joint team has the task of maximizing so that the North Penajam Pasert people can choose, because our target for 2024 is that the participation rate reaches 80 percent," said Chairman of the PPU KPU, Irwan Syahwana when met at the PPU KPU Office, Saturday, February 10, confiscated by Antara.
Irwan hopes that the presence of the IKN megaproject will repeat what the PPU achieved in the 2019 election when the district had the highest level of participation in the election in East Kalimantan.
The PPU Regency KPU noted that the total number of voters in PPU Regency was 134,383 voters. Then for the Additional Voter List (DTPb) who are IKN workers as many as 3,266 voters.
At the IKN special location TPS, 304 DPTbs have been registered. This number is divided into two, namely for TPS 901 as many as 187 DPTb, and Polling Station 902 which was recorded at 117 DPTb.
The total number of voters in PPU Regency was recorded at 134,383 voters.
"Incidentally, PPU has the highest participation rate in 2019 in East Kalimantan. I hope 2024, our set figure can be maximized. So the participation rate remains high in East Kalimantan.
One of the efforts to make the 2024 General Election a success at IKN is by making a joint team consisting of the North Penajam Paser Regency Government, the Archipelago Capital Authority (OIKN), the PPU KPU and the PPU Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu).

The joint team routinely conducts socialization to the PPU Regency community regarding five types of ballots, access to appropriate polling stations, voting procedures to services for disabled voters.
In addition, a joint team that also cooperates with the police and the Regional Military Command (Pangdam) also conducts specific socialization to IKN workers.
In line with Irwan, Acting Regent of North Penajam Paser Regency, Makmur Marbun, said that his party would continue to oversee the process of the 2024 General Election.
Moreover, the new state capital will be inaugurated to make the democratic party in PPU Regency a priority.
"It (IKN) proves that nothing should be neglected regarding the implementation of the 2024 General Election, especially in the candidate for the state capital. So this is going to be the state capital, I as the regent give priority regarding the 2024 General Election," he said.
