Read The Declaration At The People's Celebration Of Semarang, Mahfud: Democracy Is Threatened, Elite Remains Silent In The Wall Of People's Prosperity

Vice Presidential Candidate number three, Mahfud MD, read out the announcement at the Semarang People's Celebration on Saturday, February 10, 2024. He mentioned two main problems in the country that caused anxiety, one of which was about democracy.

"Indonesia's democracy is experiencing a crisis and is threatened with its existence. The voice of the people as a spirit of democracy is barely heard in the ears of the elite."

"The rulers seem to be silent in a damping wall that is soundproof by the people. Suddenly the rulers and power apparatus become a burden," Mahfud said reading the announcement in front of his supporters during the People's Celebration at Simpang Lima Semarang, Central Java, Saturday, February 10, 2024.

"Indeed, Indonesia's democracy leads to or leads to darkness because corruption is increasingly occurring, the law is misused, and the constitution is being manipulated," continued the former Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs.

Mahfud said that the behavior of these rulers had finally troubled the community.

"It's getting more and more difficult for the child. Ironically, the economic cartel is getting more and more rampant," he said.

Furthermore, Mahfud said that together with Ganjar, who became a presidential candidate, he often traveled to various cities. From there they get many stories that access to health is uneven, job opportunities are getting more difficult, access to education is getting more difficult, and prices for basic commodities continue to soar.

Therefore, Mahfud promised to ensure that the number three pair would solve this problem.

"Everything that is wrong must be stopped from now on. Yes, now we are crashing! We are attacking! We hit and rammed all barriers that cause darkness of democracy and economic injustice in Indonesia," said the former Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court (MK).

There are various ways that will be done later. First, strengthen democracy to prevent corruption, collusion, and nepotism.

Second, Ganjar-Mahfud promised to become a leader who is obedient and obedient to the voice of the people.

"Thirdly, we will always be loyal to the people. We will fulfill the people's social, economic and cultural rights. We will not deny the trust that is placed on our shoulders," he said.

"We will not deny it all. What promises have we made, God willing, we have calculated from now on," concluded Mahfud.
