Professor Of Law Calls Chancellor Criticism To Jokowi To Hinder Prabowo-Gibran
JAKARTA - Professor of Constitutional Law at Pakuan University Bogor and Chairman of the Constitutional Lawyers Forum, Andi Asrun, said that the opinions of academics, professors, and chancellors at universities who were busy criticizing President Joko Widodo were considered deliberately to hinder candidate pair number two, Prabowo-Gibran.
According to him, campus criticism of President Jokowi was refuted when he showed his neutrality in the election.
"In my opinion, when Mr. Jokowi said that there was no campaign, his accusations were resolved. When Mr. Jokowi said stop distributing social assistance, the accusation was completed that Jokowi was taking sides, the government was not neutral," Andi said in a discussion on the Indonesian Legal Doctors Association with the theme "The Phenomenon of Political Participation Infiltration at Campus on Friday, February 9, 2024," in Jakarta.
Andi also assessed that the criticism was aimed at suppressing certain candidate pairs electoral candidates who had been identified as having President Jokowi's support.
"My allegation that this movement of criticism of the Government is a political mobilization. The goal is, firstly, electoral interests."

"So, if we look at some of the figures behind this, yes, they are indeed their main goal of hindering election and relegating Prabowo-Gibran's electability," said Andi.
The same thing was also expressed by constitutional law expert Fahri Bachmid. He expressed that criticism from the academic pulpit that appeared ahead of voting was biased to interfere.
"For example, approaching the voting period, but always disturbances and noise like this, it is very difficult for us to distinguish that this is an absolute aspiration for us to observe as something objective or not," said Fahri, Friday, February 9, 2024.
Meanwhile, the General Chairperson of the Postgraduate Doctors Association for Indonesian Law, Abdul Chair Ramadhan, said that the petition for criticism from campus civitas addressed to President Jokowi resembles the actions of politicians.
"If it resembles that it is not purely academic, not purely the brain of the mind of the big teacher's heart, it means that someone created it, this is what is called creating conditions in order to lead to momentum," said Chair.
