The Majority Of Polish Residents Reject Social Allowance For Ukrainian Refugees

JAKARTA - More than half or 53 percent of Polish society does not support the social allowance allocated by their government to Ukrainian refugees, the Polish newspaper Rzeczpospolita.

Citing a poll by Warsaw University, the report said only 21 percent of respondents supported the payment of social allowances for Ukrainian refugees, while another 47 percent opposed equal access to social assistance.

Reported by ANTARA from Sputnix, Friday, February 9, the number of those who supported social assistance measures changed within two years, the report said.

In 2022, 50 percent of respondents will support the allocation and only 20 percent will oppose it, according to the newspaper.

Currently, Ukrainian refugees in Poland are benefiting from some benefits, including the right to work, social welfare, housing assistance, health care, and car insurance.

According to various estimates, currently there are 1 million to 1.5 million Ukrainian refugees in Poland.
