Russia Is Testing The Use Of Robotic Systems For Armored Vehicles

JAKARTA - A series ofhadronic firmware that allows the conversion of any armored vehicle or tank into a remotely controlled robotic vehicle is undergoing trials, said High Precision Weapons, a high-precision manufacturer of systems and weapons under state company Rostec Russia, on the sidelines of the 'World Defense Show 2024'.

"The development of a series of firmware guards has been completed in full coverage and the series is undergoing a complete testing cycle at this time," the company told TASS as quoted on February 6.

Previous reports said that this series of firmware could turn wheeled or chain-wheeled armored vehicles, armored personnel carriers, or tanks into robotic machines.

"The firmware series of dies for robotic conversion of armored vehicles or tanks will provide long-range steering opportunities while floating," said High Precision Weapons.

"The firmware series can be installed in every existing material serial specimen. For example, in BMP-3 armored combat vehicles. This allows the robotization function of drivers and shooters, maintains the ergonomic standard seat of crew members and provides the opportunity to drive the vehicle both in manned condition and remote control," the company said.

"Such robotic machines with any combat module can carry motorcycle rifles, carry out combat operations, and provide fire support for attack troops, including when floating," the company added.
