Emphasize The Need For OPD Pay Attention To Indigenous Papuans, Governor: Economic Improvement
PAPUA - Acting Governor of Central Papua Ribka Haluk asked the head of Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD) within the Central Papua Provincial Government (Pemprov) to continue to make programs to encourage improving the welfare of the local indigenous Papuan people (OAP).
"Seeing the current condition of the people in Central Papua, of course, there needs to be serious attention from the OPD in improving the economy which can improve the welfare of citizens," he said in a press release in Jayapura, Papua, Wednesday, February 7, which was confiscated by Antara.
According to Ribka, for this reason, through the identification of novice entrepreneurs and business training that has been carried out by the Civil Registry Administration and Population Service, PMK for the village community is expected to improve the local economy.
"I hope not only from the Civil Registry Administration and Population Office, PMK but also from other relevant agencies to create a welfare improvement program," he said.

He explained, with this newly developed area, it can facilitate and accelerate economic growth and prosper the people in Central Papua.
"So it is necessary to take strategic steps that are in accordance with the characteristics of the community and local wisdom in eight districts," he said.
He added that one of them was providing agricultural equipment and container boxes for Papuan mama-mama traders.
"We hope that this assistance can improve the quality of products so that they can compete with business actors outside Central Papua," he concluded.
