Three Operators Of Online Gambling Arrested On AirAsia Plane Destination Malaysia

JAKARTA - The East Jakarta Metro Police Satreskrim managed to thwart the practice of online gambling which began to grow in the Matraman area, East Jakarta. The gang of suspects operates inside rented rented houses.

From the results of the raid on a rented house that was used as a hotbed for online gambling, the police arrested 7 suspects and confiscated a number of evidences in the form of 14 computers, 4 mobile phones and 2 ATM cards.

Then the police developed a case and succeeded in arresting three other suspects who were about to flee to Malaysia via an AirAsia plane at Soekarno Hatta Airport, Tangerang. Three of them were arrested on the plane while trying to escape to Malaysia.

"We have arrested three suspects on board the AirAsia plane. The three suspects are YY, FD and BER," said East Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Nicolas Ary Lilipaly to reporters, Wednesday, February 7.

The arrests of the three suspects were based on the results of the collaboration between the East Jakarta Metro Police Satreskrim and Soekarno Hatta Airport.

"Finally we can field the three suspects for us to process," he said.

From the results of the examination by the East Jakarta Metro Police, the suspect with the initials BER admitted that he wanted to go to Malaysia for a vacation.

"They want to go to Malaysia, they admit that they want to take a vacation," he said.

Previously, it was reported that the East Jakarta Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit raided the online gambling headquarters and money laundering crimes operating in the Matraman area, East Jakarta.

As many as 10 suspects were arrested by the police along with evidence of a crime. Three of them were arrested on the plane while trying to escape to Malaysia.

The evidence confiscated by the East Jakarta Metro Police were a computer monitor and CPU screen as well as several mobile phones. The suspects numbered ten people, the initials ALM (24), AH (31), AGS (30), APU (24), BER (31), FD (24), RMAI (24), SQ (23), SN (20) and YY (21).
