14,291 Prisoners In Jakarta Are Recorded As Voters For The 2024 Election
JAKARTA - The Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kanwil Kemenkumham) DKI Jakarta finally submitted a letter of sending voter data for Correctional Inmates (WBP) or Prisoners from special locations for prisons, detention centers and LPKA in DKI Jakarta to the Chairman of the KPU DKI Jakarta Province on Wednesday, January 7.
The letter is the final data on the number of correctional inmates registered as DPT. The number of inmates who were registered as voters at prisons, detention centers and LPKA in the DKI Jakarta area was recorded as of February 6, 2024.
"The number recorded is 14,291 people out of the number of inmates of 15,040 people or already 95,01%. In total we achieved 95 percent, of which 5 percent were not registered as voters because the inmates were still children in LPKA and died and foreigners," Ibnu told reporters at the DKI Jakarta KPU Office, Jalan Salemba Raya, Senen District, Central Jakarta.
Furthermore, Ibnu said that the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of DKI Jakarta had prepared and facilitated polling stations in special locations in prisons, detention centers and LPKA as many as 56 polling stations.

Ibnu also stated that his party gave appreciation to the Chairman of the DKI Jakarta Provincial KPU and the Head of the DKI Jakarta Propinsi Dukcapil Office for the effective synergy and collaboration in fulfilling the voting rights of inmates in the 2024 General Election.
"As for the WBP, all of them have been recorded (e-KTP), due to support from the KPU and the DKI Dukcapil Service," he said.
Later, the DKI Jakarta Kemenkumham Regional Office Netrality Task Force Team will directly monitor the implementation of elections in 8 prisons, detention centers and LPKA in the DKI Jakarta area.
"The voter data collection process has been carried out since November 2023," he said.
