After One Year Using The Invitation System, Bluesky Is Now Open To The Public

JAKARTA - Bluesky, an alternative social media platform X, announced it has removed its waiting list and opened services in general to everyone around the world.

Since its launch about a year ago, Bluesky has used an invitation code system to users if they want to register or create their Bluesky account.

Over the past year, we have used the invitation code to help us manage growth while we made features such as moderation tools, special feeds, and more, "the company wrote in its official announcement quoted Wednesday, February 7.

During that one year, Bluesky has ensured that security is at the heart of social media. Thus, Bluesky moderates the app according to the platform community guidelines.

In the coming weeks, Bluesky will be releasing a labeling service that will allow users or organizations to compile more options in addition to existing moderation preferences.

For example, fact checking organizations can run labeling services and tag posts as partially wrong', misleading', or other categories. Then, users who believe these organizations can subscribe to their labels.

Lastly, this month, Bluesky will also launch an initial version of the experimental federation, or a feature that makes the network so open and customizable.

In Bluesky, you will have the freedom to choose rather than have to follow the wishes of private companies or black box algorithms, concluded the announcement.
