Revision Of Rooftop PLTS Rules Remove Electric Export Permits?

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo is known to have signed a revision of the Ministerial Regulation (Permen) of Energy and Mineral Resources Number 26 of 2021 concerning Roof Solar Power Plants (PLTS) which is connected to the Electricity Network of Electric Power Holders for Electric Power Supply Business Permits for Public Interest.

Director of New Renewable Energy Aneka (EBT) of the Directorate General of EBTKE of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Andriah Feby Misna revealed that in its revision, this regulation eliminates the mechanism for exporting electricity from roof PLTS to a grid owned by PT PLN (Persero).

"Nothing from this regulation is because how many were installed was encouraged to be used for their own use for the use of chairmanship of export-import consumers to be eliminated," said Feby, quoted on Tuesday, February 6.

With the abolition of the export regulation, it means that people do not need to export electricity to PLN as a reduction in their electricity bills.

Feby explained, this is intended not to burden PLN's finances.

In addition, this regulation is also willing to transfer the APBN as compensation in the event of an increase in the cost of providing electricity (BPP) in certain systems.

"In the Ministerial Regulation, it has been stated that if for example there is an increase in BPP from PLN, it will be charged to the state in accordance with the laws and regulations," continued Febby.

a added, the regulation also states that the electricity capacity generated by the PLTS will be adjusted to consumer needs.

"We are currently concerned because PLN is oversupply, so this Rooftop PLTS is for its own use. So as much as possible the installed capacity will later be used for consumers themselves," explained Feby.

For this reason, he hopes that the community can install a Rooftop PLTS according to their respective needs. On the other hand, there will be a quota set by PLN with the approval of the Directorate General of Energy and Mineral Resources and reviewed by the Directorate General of EBTKE ESDM.

"The consumer installed (PLTS) according to their needs. Later, it will be adjusted to the PLN quota, which will issue the quota set by the Director General of Gatrik after being reviewed by the Directorate General of EBTKE," concluded Feby.
