Kominfo's Commitment To Support AI Development In Indonesia
Deputy Minister of Communication and Information, Nezar Patria, said that the government is currently committed to massive and positive use of artificial intelligence (AI) technology.
Because according to him, the use of AI can be very useful for various sectors, including the economic, health, education, or other sectors sectors.
"So we need to continue to support these achievements because AI will become a benchmark for mastery of digital technology in the next 5 to 10 years," said Nezar, quoted on Tuesday, February 6.
According to the Deputy Minister of Communication and Information, Indonesia's readiness is currently still in the AI development stage. So that many sectors are currently adopting existing AI models, such as OpenAI's GPT-4 or Meta's Llama.
"A number of our model foundations are adopted, even we also develop, for example, a Generation AI for Natural Language Processing by a number of startups as well as some data processing using AI in the marketing sector," he explained.

However, Deputy Minister of Communication and Information Nezar Patria ensured that the Indonesian government would always support AI development in Indonesia.
"Kominfo, in this case, fully supports AI development efforts that have been carried out by stratup companies and also a number of technology companies both national and global operating in Indonesia," he said.
