Phase I Trans Sumatra Toll Road Throughout 972 Km Targeted To Be Completed This Year
JAKARTA - PT Hutama Karya (Persero) targets all 972-kilometer (km) Phase I Trans Sumatra Toll Roads (JTTS) to be completed this year.
The completion of the toll road construction is expected to strengthen the connectivity of land transportation in the Sumatra region.
Executive Vice President (EVP) Corporate Secretary Hutama Karya Tjahjo Purnomo said the target for the completion of JTTS phase I covers 6 sections, namely the Sigli-Banda Aceh Toll Road Section I Padang Tidji-Seulimum along 25 km, the Binjai-Langsa Toll Road Section III Tanjung Pura-Pangkalan Brandan along 19 km and the Indrapura-Kisaran Toll Road Section II Limapulh-Kisaran along 32 km.
Then, there is the Kuala Tanjung-Tebing Tinggi-Parapat Toll Road Section III and IV Tebing Tinggi-Pematang Siantar along 58 km and the Padang-Pekanbaru Toll Road Section I Padang-Sicincin along 37 km and Section V Bangkinang-Pangkalan stage I (Bangkinang-Koto Kampar) along 25 km.
Tjahjo said this was in line with the target set by the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR).
"We are targeting that the six (16) JTTS phase I sections along 196 km can be completed in the first semester (2024) and the issuance of 9 Operational LIKE Certificates (SLO). The progress of each segment in general is very significant, we hope that JTTS can have an impact on the national economy," said Tjahjo, quoted from the official website of Hutama Karya, Monday, February 5.
He explained, to accelerate the construction of JTTS, his party appreciated the Government's support for the 2024 State Capital Participation (PMN) of IDR 18.6 trillion, which included the completion budget for a number of JTTS stages I sections.
To date, Hutama Karya has built JTTS about 1,030 km, including construction support toll roads.

The sections that have been fully operational are Bakauheni-Terbanggi Besar (140 km) Toll Road, Terbanggi Besar-Pematang Panggang-Kayu Agung (189 km) Toll Road, Palembang-Indralaya Toll Road (22 km), Medan-Binjai Toll Road (17 km), Pekanbaru-Dumai Toll Road (132 km) and Sigli Banda Aceh Toll Road Section 2-6 (49 km).
Furthermore, Binjai-Langsa Toll Road Section Binjai-Tanjung Pura (38 km), Bengkulu-Taba Penjung Toll Road (17 km), Pekanbaru-Bangkinang Toll Road (31 km), Indralaya-Prabumulih Toll Road (64 km), Indrapura-Limapuluh Toll Road (15.6 km) and Tebing Tinggi-Indrapura Toll Road (28.5 km).
