Vice President: The Islamic World Must Unite To Resolve Gaza's Conflict

JAKARTA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin stressed the need for solidarity among Muslims around the world to continue to voice the resolution of conflicts in the Gaza Line, Palestine.

This was emphasized by Ma'ruf in his meeting with Al Azhar High Priest Ahmed Al-Tayeb, in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, Monday, February 5.

The vice president highlighted the issue given the escalation of the conflict that is still heating up between Israel and Palestine, although various international efforts have been taken to stop genocide against Gaza's population.

"It takes the unity of voice and determination of the Islamic world to solve the Palestinian issue fairly," said Ma'ruf, as quoted by ANTARA from a statement from the Press Bureau of the Vice Presidential Secretariat (Setwapres) RI.

Ma'ruf Amin emphasized that the genocide committed by Israeli forces against Palestinians must be stopped immediately because it has violated the laws, ethics and norms.

“Serangan ini jelas melanggar hukum internasional dan nilai-nilai kemanusiaan,” ujar dia, serayamenyampaikan keprihatinan atas kejadian yang menimpa warga Muslim di Gaza.

"I am sad that the world is powerless to stop Israel's atrocities in Gaza," added the vice president.

Before ending his meeting with Grand Imam Al Azharitu, Ma'ruf expressed hope that the conflict in Gaza could be resolved fairly.
