Deputy MUI Asks Honest-Adil Stakeholders To Carry Out Their Prosperous Tasks
JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) Marsudi Syuhud asked all stakeholders to be chivalrous in carrying out their duties, especially regarding the general election (election) for presidential and vice presidential candidates.
"All stakeholders must really have a satri, honest, fair spirit in carrying out their duties and obligations as straight as they should be," Marsudi said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, February 5.
Previously, Marsudi Syuhud together with a number of religious leaders who were members of the Peaceful Indonesia Care Forum declared the 2024 General Election peaceful.
This event is the third time held with the aim of creating peaceful, honest, and fair elections and avoiding fraud so as to produce fans according to the hopes of the nation.
Marsudi said Indonesian citizens also have an important role, especially in the current situation which requires strong roles and control from the community.
The control of the community is to create an honest and fair election atmosphere, and to continue to prioritize a sense of unity and integrity despite different choices.
"In a situation prone to trust as it is now, the role, strict and thorough control and supervision of all of us is very much needed," he said.

Meanwhile, the Archdiocese of Jakarta, Father of the cardinal Ignatius Suharyo, said that his community does not side with any of the candidate pairs. His party only calls for unity, regardless of circumstances.
"We say leaders, religious communities are not in favor. We stand on moral levels," he said.
He said that whoever the leader who will be elected and decided by the competent authority must be accepted. Don't let anyone be provoked by the provocations that exist.
"If later whoever is elected, and has been decided by the competent institution, then we must accept it. That is what we must convey," he said.
