200 Personnel Guard Election Logistics Distribution In Papua's Mimika-Prone Area
TIMIKA - Mimika Regency Resort Police (Polres), Central Papua has prepared 200 security personnel to oversee the distribution of general election logistics (Pemilu) to conflict-prone areas.
Mimika Police Chief AKBP I Gede Putra said the National Police and the TNI had prepared more than 200 security personnel.
"For very vulnerable areas, we have prepared approximately 290 personnel, who are members of the National Police and the TNI and we will distribute them," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, February 5.
According to the Police Chief, these personnel were prepared only to guard the election, while for normal days there were no special personnel.
"We have placed vulnerable, less vulnerable and very vulnerable areas as measured from access to the area," he said.
He explained that the size of the vulnerable area, namely access to the area, is difficult to reach, and it is difficult to access land transportation equipment.
"So the areas that become very vulnerable are if they can only be reached by airplane, and do not have access to communication facilities at all," he said.

"For now there is no clue from the KPU, especially since there is a change of members of the Mimika KPU. However, we always intensely communicate and always oversee the KPU agenda because together we have a responsibility to make the 2924 election a success," he said.
