Thousands Of Voice Letters Damaged, Bandung Regency KPU Has Received Replacement

The General Election Commission (KPU) of Bandung Regency has received the arrival of thousands of replacement ballots which were found to be damaged.

The damaged ballots are for the presidential and vice presidential elections, the Indonesian House of Representatives, the DPD RI, the West Java Provincial DPRD and the Bandung Regency DPRD to prepare for the 2024 General Election.

"Five types of ballots that were damaged have all been sent to replace them. Where in accordance with the data collection of the damaged ballots we asked for," said Head of the Bandung Regency KPU Finance, General and Logistics Section, Dheny Irawan in Bandung Regency, Monday, February 5, as reported by Antara.

Dheny explained, for damaged ballots, it is dominated by tearing or holes in the party's photos and pictures so that it looks like it has been cast or faded color on the logo part so it is not visible in the previous folding sort results.

The first is because it was torn big until it was hit by the photo line or name or image of the party. Then the second one has a hole in one of the candidate names and the third is the color of the ballot that has faded," he said.

Election ballots for the damaged ballots, he said, had received replacements, among others, for the presidential and vice presidential elections as many as 230 sheets, DPR RI as many as 2,832 sheets, DPD RI as many as 865 sheets, DPRD West Java Province as many as 4,478 and DPRD Bandung Regency 471 sheets.

Furthermore, he said that after receiving the replacement of the damaged ballot from the Indonesian KPU through the West Java Provincial KPU, a folding sort would be carried out based on the number that was replaced to fulfill the five types of elections.

"Currently we are sorting out additional ballots from data on damage totaling 8,876 ballots," he said.

He added that if a broken ballot was found again, his party would immediately ask the West Java Provincial KPU to send a new one immediately, so that the distribution process to the sub-district election committee (ppk) is not too late.

"In the process of multiplicating ballots if something is lacking, it can be asked for more shortcomings," said Dheny.

He ensured that all logistics for the 2024 General Election would arrive at 11,034 polling stations (TPS) in Bandung Regency on D-1 voting.

It was only on February 11 to 13 that the kelurahan was sent to Tps. So we give two days to distribute logistics from the kelurahan to Twas," he said.
