Budget Telan Rp32.4 Billion, Here's The Beauty Of The Wanakarya Convex In Indramayu, West Java
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) has completed the construction of the Wanakarya Embung in Indramayu, West Java, which cost IDR 32.4 billion.
The embung has provided benefits for irrigation and tourism. In addition to providing crisis solutions for farmers, its presence is a public space because it has beautiful views with a rice field background.
"With its own charm for local tourists, this reservoir went viral on social media after its construction was completed," said PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono as quoted from the official Instagram account @kemenpupr, Monday, February 5.
In addition, this reservoir with rural natural nuances is also equipped with jogging tracks. Its existence is intended for water security and food sovereignty.
"In some areas there are still people who often have difficulty getting clean water. Reality like this is the concern of the Ministry of PUPR in order to always strive to provide water infrastructure, one of which is through the construction of reservoirs," he said.

The construction of the Manakaya Embung itself will be carried out in the 2020-2021 fiscal year with a state budget cost of around IDR 32.4 billion. The embung with a capacity of 101,800 cubic meters has provided benefits for water supply for 777 hectares (ha) of agricultural land and as a reservoir for water during the dry season.
The construction of the Wanakaya Embung is carried out in two stages. The first stage in 2020 includes land work (gail, piles and bluckets), intake construction, pump house construction, installation of distribution pipes as well as inlet and outlet work. Meanwhile, the second stage in 2021 includes revetment work, inspection roads, minipile design, and rock pairs.
"The presence of Embung Wanakaya is expected to provide a solution to the water crisis for farmers, so that they can boost agricultural products and improve the community's economy," he added.
