UI Is In First Position In University Ranking In Indonesia Webometrics Ranking Version
JAKARTA - The University of Indonesia (UI) occupies the first position in Indonesia or Rank 10 in Southeast Asia according to the Webometrics Ranking of World Universities.
UI Chancellor Prof. Ari Kuncoro in his statement, quoted from Antara, Saturday, February 3, said that UI's achievements in Webometrics are proof of the synergy of UI residents because everything that is displayed on the website is the result of hard work together.
He said this rating was not just assessing the appearance of the website, but assessing every published content, both in quantity and quality, especially those with academic relevance.
Last year, UI bought up international awards for scientific publications and this year is determined to increase its position at the global level.
Meanwhile, the Head of Public Relations and Public Information Openness Bureau of UI Amelita Lusia said, UI is the only university from the country that has entered the Top 10 in Southeast Asia.
"UI improved its rating from 561 in July 2023 to 537 in January 2024," said Amelita.
An assessment of the Webinometrics rankings is based on three indicators, namely visibility (50 percent), transparency (10 percent), and excellence (40 oersen). Visibility assesses the impact of web content through the number of external networks (subnets) connected to the institution's web page (normalized and then selected the maximum value).
Transparency or openness sees the number of quotes from the top 310 authors sourced from Google Scholar Profiles. Meanwhile, excellence or echolar is the number of scientific publication articles among the top 10 percent most quoted from 27 disciplines with Scimago sources.
These indicators take into account teaching commitments, research results, international prestige, as well as university relations with the public, including the industrial and economic sectors.
