The Ministry Of PUPR Calls Repairing The Damaged Parung Panjang Road Will Be In Vain If The Mining Line Is Not Built

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) responded to the settlement of damaged roads due to mining trucks in Parung Panjang, Bogor Regency, which often claimed victims from day to day.

Director General of Highways of the Ministry of PUPR Hedy Rahadian said the solution that can be done at this time is to create a special road for mining trucks passing through the area.

"We want the mining road to be handled first. The province already has a strategy to make a special road for mining trucks with mining owners," Hedy told VOI when met at the PUPR Ministry office, Jakarta, Friday, February 2.

Hedy assessed that if the special road was not made, the road repairs carried out by the central government through the Ministry of PUPR would be in vain.

"So, we want to look more thoroughly later," he said.

According to Hedy, his party has communicated with the West Java Provincial Government (Pemprov) and it is planned that there will be a special road construction for mining trucks.

"We want to see what the mining road looks like. We have communicated with the province, the head of the service is committed to continuing the mining road," he added.

Furthermore, Hedy said, when the construction of the special road for the mining truck has been completed, the Ministry of PUPR will begin to repair roads around it.

"Yes (we will repair) if the mining road has been handled as well," he added.

As previously reported, the Jagabaya Village Community in Bogor Regency who are members of the Lower Flow Community Movement (Gema Abah) attended an audience with Commission V DPR RI at the Parliament Building, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday, January 22.

It was not without reason that they came to the people's representative building. Gema Abah, which in this case was represented by Ishak, conveyed his aspirations regarding the completion of the road in Parung Panjang, Bogor Regency, which often takes victims.

Ishak explained that Parung Panjang Street is getting more and more chaotic day by day. He assessed that so far residents living around the area have really wasted time achieving their goals.

"Maybe Mr. Haji Mulyadi (a member of Commission V DPR RI) has come there and already knows how Parung Panjang is chaotic. So what if for me, yes, Parung Panjang people are really wasteful, wasteful of time, waste of time!," said Ishak in an audience with Commission V DPR RI, Monday, January 22.

"Why do I say it's waste of time? So in Parung Panjang it's no longer a national traffic jam, we traffic jams every day. Moreover, for us workers. Every day we get traffic jams for more than 1 hour to go to work, we haven't come home from work yet," he continued.

He considered that almost all residents in the Parung Panjang area had to take up to about 10 hours in a five-day working period just to get to their respective destinations.

"I consider us to have sacrificed 1 day for 2 hours for just one day. We are actively working 5 days, 2 hours 5 (days) 10 hours. So in one week we spend only 10 hours. What should be productive but we spend from Parung Panjang, not to mention a month if we multiply it," he said.

"So, Parung Panjang people are really wasteful. We are not really wasteful, what makes wasteful is the government. The government can't guarantee us to work properly, make a safe and peaceful living," added Ishak.
