The Defendant Of The Mount Bromo Fire Was Sentenced To 2.5 Years In Prison
The panel of judges at the Krasaan Probolinggo District Court, East Java sentenced Andrie Wibowo Eka Waedhana (41) to 2 years and six months in prison and a fine of Rp. 3.5 billion.
"We have sentenced the defendant to imprisonment for two years and six months and a fine of Rp. 3.5 billion," said Chief Judge I Made Yuliana as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, February 1.
The panel of judges at the Kraksaan District Court (PN) led directly by the local chairman of the PN read out the verdict in the trial agenda for reading the verdict which was held in the Cakra room of the Kraksaan District Court, Wednesday (31/1).
The verdict of the panel of judges was lighter than the demands of the public prosecutor (JPU) who demanded 3 years in prison and a fine of Rp. 3 billion, subsidiary to six months in prison.
Based on the verdict, the panel of judges gave the prosecutor or the defendant's attorney to accept or appeal the decision.

"On this decision, the prosecutor's team decided that they were still thinking about it because the decision was below the demands, so the prosecutor reported the decision to the leadership in stages. Whether to accept or appeal," he said.
Meanwhile, the defendant's attorney, Hasmoko, said that his party considered the decision to be still very heavy even though the judge's verdict was lighter than the prosecutor's demands.
"Our client has absolutely no intention of burning the teletubbies hill, but we still respect that decision," he said.
