After Meeting Jokowi Says Goodbye To Resigning From The Cabinet: Earlier I Met Aja, Very Cai

Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud Md told of his meeting with President Joko Widodo when submitting a letter of resignation from his position in the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet (KIM).

"I was with Pak Jokowi just joking, very fluid and full of brotherhood. There was no tension whatsoever," Mahfud said when met by the media crew at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Thursday, February 1.

Mahfud said that during his meeting with President Jokowi, which lasted for 10 minutes, he was filled with many people.

When submitting the resignation letter, Mahfud assessed that the discussion on the substance of the letter was completed in a short time, and joked more with the President.

Mahfud, who is also the candidate for vice president number 3, also revealed that the conversation was carried out with full kinship, and even the two of them spoke from heart to heart.

Mahfud admitted that he and President Jokowi told each other when he was appointed as Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs in October 2019.

President Jokowi also mentioned Mahfud MD as the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs who served for the longest time in his cabinet during these two periods.

According to the President, said Mahfud, the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs previously, namely Tedjo Edhy Purdijatno, had served for less than a year.

The Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, Luhut Binsar Panjaitan, only served four months, then Wiranto served for about three years and six months, while he served for about four years and six months.

However, due to the political situation that developed in the midst of the 2024 Presidential Election, he felt he had to resign from this position.

"I've almost four and a half years. Just because of political developments, I really have to focus on other tasks so I beg you to stop. That's all it says, there's nothing else," said Mahfud.
