Kadin Asks For Direct Flights To Central Java To Re-open

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) of Central Java asked that international direct flights to airports in Central Java be reopened as an effort to encourage tourism in 2024.

"We have written to the provincial government and airlines so that direct routes for international flights to Central Java are reopened," said Chairman of the Central Java Chamber of Commerce and Industry Harry Nuryanto during a "coffee morning" activity with tourism activists in Semarang, quoted from Antara, Thursday, February 1.

According to him, the opening of international direct flights will encourage an increase in the number of foreign tourists visiting.

He hopes that the government can follow up on the proposal through a policy prepared.

In addition, he also encouraged airlines to reopen international flights at two airports in Central Java.

According to him, airlines are still considering the business aspect of opening international flights.

He emphasized that the Central Java Chamber of Commerce and Industry is ready to synergize with the local provincial government in developing tourism.

Meanwhile, Assistant for Economics and Development of Central Java Province, Sujarwanto Dwiatmoko, said that the tourism of this province from year to year is getting more quality.

The indicator, he said, was based on the high number of guests staying at star hotels.

One of the tourism potentials developed in Central Java in the future, according to him, is cultural tourism that raises the traditions of the people of this province.

"For tour packages that raise cultural potential, there will be more tourists visiting," he said.
