Corruption Perception Index In Indonesia Stagnant, Ranks 115 In Line With Sri Lanka

JAKARTA - Transparency International Indonesia (TII) released the Corruption Perception Index (IPK) 2023. As a result, Indonesia achieved a score of 34 the same as 2022 but its ranking fell 5 points to 115 from 180 countries.

Quoted from Transparency International data, Indonesia is equal to Ecuador, Malawi, Philippines, Sri Lanka, and Turkey which also got a score of 34. This GPA is stated on a scale of 0, which means the most corrupt while 100 are the cleanest.

"We rarely use rankings as an indicator, but this is important for us to know together, this is a record with a stagnant down rating score, which is a bad sign that we want to go to a full democracy and access to equal justice," said Deputy Secretary General of TII Wawan Suyatmiko, quoted on Wednesday, January 31.

Meanwhile, in the highest Asean region, the GPA is Singapore with a score of 83 out of 100. Meanwhile, the country in the world that holds the first rank is Denmark with a score of 90.

The corruption perception index survey was conducted in 180 countries. The average score of the global GPA reaches 43 while the Asian Pacific country is 45 out of 100.
